Sampler: Rail fence

Bueno, pues aquí está... el primer bloque del sampler de Esperanza. Al final me he decidido a hacerlo en centímetros y a mano... aunque aún está por ver si no acabo pidiéndole ayuda a la Berni, jajajaja...

Bueno, parece que voy avanzando con algunas cosas.

He conseguido terminar el top del quilt que estaba haciendo siguiendo un tutorial de Helen de Hugs'n Kisses.

Well, it seems I am finally progressing with some stuff... 

I managed to finish the top of the quilt I was doing following a tutorial by Helen from Hugs'n Kisses.

¿Qué os parece? No os enseño fotos de cerca porque hace muchos bollos... jajaja...

Un pequeño consejo, si estáis haciendo vuestro PRIMER quilt a máquina... ¡¡NO useis triángulos!! Las uniones son un dolor... y luego nada cuadra bien y hay que ajustar los bordes... horrible, fue horrible.

What do you think? There are no closer view pictures because it has lots of bumps... hahaha...

A little advice, if it is the FIRST quilt you are doing with the machine... DO NOT use triangles!! The junctions are a pain... and then nothing fits and you must adjust the borders... horrible, it was horrible.

Pero bueno, ahora sólo tengo que conseguir la guata (no la compré en su momento y en la tienda que la compro se les ha terminado, a ver como hago), y echarle valor para atreverme con el acolchado a máquina.... buf... que duro va a ser. ¡Y después de eso viene el bies!  jajajaja...

Bueno, pasito a paso...

But anyway, now I just have to get some batting (I did not buy it at the time and they have run out of it in the shop where I usually buy it), and be brave to start with machine quilting... buf... it is going to be difficult. And after that it will come the binding! hahahaha...

Ok... just one step at a time...

No he podido resistirme a la propuesta de Esperanza de coser juntas un sampler... como yo aun no tenía hecho el mío propio. Es que esta mujer es todo ánimos. Mirad que pandilla de locas ha juntado en su blog de A Esperanza le gusta coser contigo. Sólo hay que ver el poder de convocatoria que tuvo su sal de navidad, que casi 100 locas por la costura lo han hecho con ella en la distancia... jajaja

¡Esperanza, eres increíble!

Yo, por supuesto me apunto a la versión tuneada, y ya he escogido la telas que usaré aunque no las tengo todavía en casa. Las compré en la tienda de Trelly y ya estoy deseando tenerlas para ver si me hace falta algún color más. Quedan pocos días para empezar esta aventura, jajaja.

Animaros y pasaros por su blog, ya veres las cosas lindas que hace y nos incita a hacer.

Me falta hacer el cuadrado del miniquilt... no he conseguido encontrar en los patrones el tamaño del dichoso cuadradito asi que imagino que se hará a ojo al unir la segunda fila... No lo he hecho porque tengo que buscar un cordoncito para ponerle... ¿o será mejor bordarlo?

I still have to do the square of the mini-quilt... I could not find the size of it in the pattern, so I imagine I must calculate more or less when joining the second row... I have not done it yet because I must find a cord to put in it... or maybe embroider it?

SAL Casitas Paper Piecing

Aprovechando que hoy tenía que poner lavadoras y hacer cosas en casa me tomé un ratito para mi, para ponerme con el primer objetivo del SAL Casitas que organiza Anna.
Aquí esta... para ser lo primero que hago en paper piecing no me ha quedado del todo mal ¿verdad?, aunque... ¡vaya trocitos tan pequeños!!!

Since I had to stay at home to wash some clother and do some housework I took a little time for myself, to start with the first objective of the SAL Casitas organized by Anna.
Here it is... to be the first thing I do in paper piecing it does not look too bad, does it?, though... such small pieces!!!!

Mi nueva ayudante...

Estos días de Semana Santa estuve ocupada en un proyecto que tenía parado hace tiempo, pues estaba peleada con mi máquina de coser (una Alfa Capricho que fue de mi madre y que tiene unos 30 años), que al final acabó yendo al taller y todo, total para que me dijeran que estaba perfecta (traduzco: no hay manera, no nos entenderemos nunca mi Alfa y yo, soy una inútil).. y allí los tenía, los retales cortados, combinados, en una bolsa de congelar esperando... que se yo, un milagro o algo así...

These Holy Week days I was busy with a project I had put aside some time ago because I was upset with my sewing machine (a Alfa Capriccio that was from my mum and that is almost 30 years old), that ended up going to be fixed, and just to hear that it was perfect (translation: there is no way, me and my Alfa we will never get along, I cannot handle it)... and there they were the pieces of fabric, combined and cut, inside a freezing bag waiting... who knows, a miracle or something...

Pues bien... mirad lo que conseguí solo en una mañana, ¡incluso costuras en cadena!

Well, look at what I managed to do in just one morning, even chain piecing!

Por supuesto tuve algo de ayuda... de mi nueva compañera de costura. Algunas, ya lo habréis adivinado por las fotos de arriba... bendita Bernina :))) Estoy taaaaaaaaaan contenta, es taaaaaaan fácil de usar... la mejor. Creo que nos vamos a llevar muy muy bien.

Of course I had some help... of my new sewing mate. Some of you already have guessed from the pictures above... bless you Bernina :))) I am sooooo happy, it is soooo easy to use... the best. I think we will get along very very well.


Por cierto, los trozos que cosí son del BOM gratuito que organizó Helen, del blog Hugs from Helen hace un par de meses, se llamaba The Great Summer Holiday Mistery, y ya os había mostrado las telitas en otra entrada.

¡Mi primer SAL!

Estoy que no paro con el trabajo y otras historias pero no he podido evitar apuntarme a mi primer SAL!!! Organizado por Isabel en su blog TILDAPATCH, se trata de una monada de bolso country y sera todo un reto hacerlo.

I am really busy with my job and other stuff but I just could not help it and I have enlisted my first SAL!!! Organised by Isabel in her blog TILDAPATCH, it is a beautiful country bag and it will be a challenge to do it.

Mientras tanto sigo preparando los intercambios que tengo pendientes (el de Najma y el de Emilia), y hoy he terminado mi primer bloque del Dear Jane!!! Le sacaré mañana por la tarde una foto con luz diurna y lo subiré al blog de Mi Baby Jane.

In the mean time I am preparing the swaps I have pending (Najma's and Emilia's), and today I have finished my first Dear Jane block!!! I will take a picture of it tomorrow afternoon at daylight and will upload it to My Baby Jane blog.
